Yep, that's what all of this teaching business has boiled down to- forcing me to take relaxation time and cram it in with dinner and studying..
I still don't have much time and am working 12+ hour days.. but at least the time moves by relatively quickly from one day to another. Regardless, I'm surely taking it one day at a time.
(That doesn't mean we can't have our countdown - only 4 days left!!)
My Nova Scotian room mate Meghan is my little companion and co-rebel through all of this - I'm hella thankful for her presence.
Anyway, I'm here in camp number 2 now - a different set of kids. Meghan was sweet enough to trade spots with me, so I got a bit older kids. Nonetheless the kids are still crazy, but their level of English is higher than my last kids. I'm looking forward to getting to know this group better, and hopefully I'll be able to teach them something that matters. I'm thrilled to at least see their curiosity booming in translation to English.
Speaking of which, I get to teach the "Our Earth" lecture again today to the oldest group! This time the kids are fairly old (seniors or so in high school) so I think I'll get a bit more feedback. This time I'm going to try to film it for real.
This morning I did a promotional video for the camp, and the owner handed me a -red envelope- with 2000 taiwan dollars in it (60 USD). It was better than teaching for the morning, but the royalties from that filming will be hundreds of times that! (Not that I'll see them or anything..)
Mmm I'm ready to get out and remember what a beautiful world it is.
The plan looks like I'll stay in Taipei through my birthday (the 10th) and Chinese New Year (the 14th) and then go travel a bit around the north (to see where exactly I want to live) with maybe a trip or two to big, southern cities, (to see if maybe I don't need to be near Taipei).
PEACE!
