Dripping Day Trip To Keelung

Last week I took a day trip to Keelung in the northwesternmost part of the island.

My companions were fellow couchsurfers: One Brit, one French, one Taiwanese (honorary Brit), and one Malaysian (US bred). The plan was to head to Keelung Island for a day trip, but it was closed due to rain. So, we went for a wet hike instead!

I couldn't pass up a tree to climb:

The view over the harbour, a huge shipping port, and some office-looking viewing seats...

At the top of our hike we found a temple and a beautiful Buddhist shrine:

A shot of some of Taiwan's finest delicaies: giant asparagus, tiny octopus and congealed blood.
