Hello friends, family, loved and not-yet-loved ones!
As 2011 rolls in my vedic horoscope promises it will inadvertently be a year of promise for me and all other Aquarians under the sun. May yours be the same.
I start re-blogging now after a 4-or-so month hiatus here in Auroville, India where I became captive to my own volunteering capabilities. I gave all I could (and more) to this community over the past third of a year, and I've undoubtedly reaped many benefits in return, most of which will likely still reveal themselves only in the folds of time. My big, favourite and bestest brother Joel is here with me now in Auroville. He'll stay after I leave to get some hands-in-the-dirt experience in organic farming.
Nonetheless, one of the brilliant endeavors I engaged in whilst here was experimentation with frugivorism, as described by Dr. Douglas Graham in his book the 80/10/10 Diet. Anyone who has known me well over the past few years has certainly noticed my heightened awareness toward all kinds of consumption, markedly that of food. Now leading a life dedicated to cellular cleansing, I've graduated as a certified nutrition consultant and my personal diet choices have grown more and more mindful. Through experimentation and intensive study, I've drawn out many truths, by which I stand today. I offer these truths to my clients (of nutrition consulting or colon hydrotherapy) and encourage them to always verify rather than believe me. You can read about my basic principles here.
Otherwise, I begin this blog, on the first day of the first month of the 2011th year of the Gregorian calendar, to share with you my learning. I am always researching this or that, and to have a cumulative record of the sources and lessons I learn this year will be brilliant.
During the month between November 11 and December 11, 2010 I experimented with a strict fruitarian diet (mostly fruit with leafy greens and a bit of soaked/sprouted nuts/seeds). Intended to only be a 2-week trial, it was so fulfilling after 15 days that I decided to continue. It was superb. For the second half of December I eased back to a previous version of a cleansing-lifestyle diet and found myself again chronically unsatisfied. Alas, I set out now on a year-long fruitarian experiment, because it is just so-damn-good.
The learning for today will be a review of food combining principles: one of the first steps to become conscious about anyone's consumption. The reason I re-checked this page was to see where plums fall: sub-acidic fruit! If you're new to food combining, please don't overwhelm yourself. Simply begin by eating proteins and starches separately (3+ hours in between), and eat fruits alone and on an empty stomach! *I'm lucky; I get to eat fruit all day long!*
So, tap in here to keep updated on my travels and my fruitarian quest... this year will bring me from India back to Taiwan and hopefully toward some fruit-tourism in Southeast Asia as well. Please do send a note if you'd like to meet up anywhere for a fresh papaya!
With love,
apd
Happy to hear you have started out strong already this year. I have been trying to do the same by writing and cleaning out some things. This year is going to be quite fruitful indeed! I hope you have much success with your diet, and you will have to let me know how that works for you as I am still a little cautious with the fruit, although I am way into berries : )
ReplyDeleteYou are such a strong woman, and very determined! I'm sure you will be continuously receiving from all that you given.
I wish you safe travels. I miss you and hope to be able to catch up more soon!
